DeWalt Atomic Drill and Impact | Review

Ohhh boy! We always get excited when we get new drills to play with. There's been a lot of talk around these Atomic Impact and Drill, so let's just go ahead and get right down to business.

The first thing we noticed when taking these out of the box, they are small. Small can be good. This impact is smaller than the XR version. This Atomic Impact is 5.1" front to back and the XR is 5.3". Not a whole lot smaller, but if you find yourself is small spaces a lot, that extra .2" could be just enough.

The Atomic drill is a whole lot smaller than the XR. Atomic comes in at 6.3" front to back and the XR is 6.9". The Atomic Drill is also an entire pound lighter than the XR!! Nuts. I would much rather be carrying around a 2.4lb drill instead to 3.4lb. The drill also puts out 340 unit watts outs with the brushless motor. Honestly, you can't go wrong with brushless tools. Almost every tool in our shop now is brushless and it's totally the way to go.

Back to the Impact. It delivers up to 1700 in./lbs of torque where as the XR is 1825. So you are sacrificing a little bit of power for a smaller impact, but it's not much at all.

Go ahead and check these out online here!
