Beginner Woodworking Tool Kit!

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot.

It has been a while since we've put together a beginner woodworking tool kit! During this crazy time with quarantine, you may have picked up a new hobby. I bet some of you have painted your walls, ripped out some cabinets, added some cabinets, upgraded your flooring, I mean I could really go on. With all this construction, maybe you've learned that you actually enjoy it, so you're looking for all the tools to get you started, but on a budget. This list is going to cover the basics of woodworking of what you really can make anything with. Let's get started.

First off, you're going to need a driver. If I'm not mistaken, this was our first tool. Back when Ryobi was a dark blue color and everything. That driver and drill are still floating around the shop somewhere. This Driver Kit is da bomb. It comes with an upgraded charger and (2) 1.5 Ah batteries for $99! That is a complete steal. Batteries aren't cheap, so with the new lower retail, you are getting such an incredible deal. For the detail of the driver, it delivers 1,800 in-lbs of torque for increased speed of drive in all applications. Also with the batteries, you can use these in any Ryobi 18-volt system! Here is the Ryobi drill that goes with this driver.

Now that you have a drill, you're going to need some drill bits. Here are a few kits that we recommend because they literally have EVERYTHING.

The RYOBI 31PC Drilling and Driving Kit. This kit has 31 Black Oxide Drill and Driver bits including spade bits, flatheads, Phillips head, a bit extender (SO HANDY), carbide tip masonry drill bits, and of course the black oxide wood drill bits. The driver bits have 135° split points that prevent walking and are engineered for strength and long-lasting durability. This one is more for your drilling needs.

The RYOBI 40PC Impact Rated Driving Kit. This one for your driving needs. This one includes a magnetic screw guide, socket adaptors, and nut drivers. The bits are impact rated with a hex shank for impact drivers and drills, always a plus for durability. We love a good case for keeping this kit together and tidy.

If you're looking into making more furniture like projects, you'll most likely end up gluing boards together to make a handful to pieces, like a dining table or coffee table. It's super important to glue these boards up with the straightest edges possible to ensure a good stable glue-up. The Ridgid Octane Brushless Hand Planer is so good, without breaking the bank on a free-standing planer or joiner. This is also a good option if you are more into power tools than traditional hand tools.

This hand plane is the industry's only adjustable chamfer depth, which is great if you wanted to add some decorative work to your projects. If you buy any Ridgid tool, you ought to invest in the octane batteries, so you get the best out of your tool and battery when paired together. Not to mention the long-lasting benefits. You get 2.5X more power than corded power tools when paired with octane batteries. Another really cool and easy feature is the depth adjustment knob that has 20 positions, 20 different depths. OH, say you want the dust bag on, but it's in the way. No worries, flip the switch under the handle and move the dust bag to the other port. DONE and super cool.

Ok, we got how you're going to attach pieces together, we just need a way to cut them. We highly recommend the Makita 18-volt brushless cordless circular saw. I know this one is a bit on the more expensive side, but we truly believe this will last you a very, very long time.

This post is to introduce you to more tools that we recommend! And maybe you're not a beginner, these tools can still do you a lot of justice. Here are our other blog posts about beginner woodworking tool kits:
